What Is Love?

What is love, but a given smile,
A look, then touch, then after while,
A feeling starts to grow?

What is love, but a summer's day,
A warm, secure place in yesterday,
Where the heart's longing to go?

Never does time stand still so much,
As a fleeting kiss, a whispered word, a favourite song.
Never you mind the chilling cold
Of the memory of what went wrong.

What is love, but pain,
Some thunder, then some rain,
As tears begin to flow?

What is love, but endless sorrow,
Wrecking plans of grand tomorrow,
Leaving the heart no place to go?
